About Me

Cynthia Turns From Disillusioned Nurse to Compassionate Healer :

After spending more than 10 years in the conventional medical system it was clear to me that there had to be other possibilities for healing. Better possibilities that felt authentic, genuine, and heart centred.

I started Dancing With Life Bodywork in 1999 with a compelling desire and yearning to share possibilities of health and wellbeing with people and to provide a meaningful and valuable alternative to Western medical practices.

Today I provide a varied range of practices and techniques centred around me listening at a heart level to all aspects and levels of what people are communicating and experiencing.

My passion is working with sensitive people who are committed to moving out of pain and fear and finding ways to create the life of their dreams. I love empowering and facilitating them to see options and then to make different choices in their lives. I am inspired daily in seeing and hearing how their own lives and the lives of their loved ones change profoundly in so many positive ways because they are now able and know how to see and do things differently.

I serve my Clients in a number of ways:

As of April 2020, I am doing all Intuitive Healing sessions remotely. This will continue at least until pandemic restrictions are lifted.

I am in the process of creating on line circles and classes and will post them here when they are confirmed. I am open to requests and ideas of what you want and need.

How My Personal Experiences Serve You:

Serving sensitive people ready to let go of their limiting pain and fear is what my practice is all about.

My passion and desire to serve, combined with gentle compassion, empathy, and caring, which originates in my own experiences as a sensitive person, give me the intuitive insights to best meet my clients’ needs.

My strongest desire is to help you, as a sensitive person, create the life of freedom that you dream of.

How do I know I can help you?

Because I, too, know what it’s like to feel every emotion in the room, especially the unspoken ones. I know what it’s like to be overwhelmed in busy places like malls or when I feel like I have too much to do in too little time or space. I know what it’s like to want to shut myself up, and be all by myself, at the end of the day because I simply cannot deal with one more thing! I know what it’s like to be so afraid of hurting or disappointing someone that I forget who I really am or what I really need. Just like you, I’ve been there.

And now I also know the freedom and joy of what it feels like to do things differently and to feel great because of it. And THAT is what I offer people who are ready to shift their lives into motion.

I help people like you discover how the challenging experiences and frustrations in life and relationships can become opportunities for healing and growth. This shift will not only change your own life…….it can change the life of every person around you. How cool is that? Very cool, I can assure you. And I want you to have that, too.

Before launching into alternative therapies, I invested 10 years working as a Registered Nurse in the States. During this time I developed my personal and professional skills in wellness and healing. As I did that, I began to see the potential of looking at health and wellness from a completely different starting point. Many new possibilities became visible once I began finding healing systems that included looking at possible causes of illness rather than only treating symptoms.

I have spent many years exploring various alternative modalities to discover the most beneficial and useful ways for me to empower people to heal themselves from within. The additional bonus on this journey has been, and continues to be, my own deep healing of my own paralyzing fears and pain.

My Education:

I have studied with Kendra Cunov and John Wineland in California in 2018 and 2019 delving into the Art of Fearless Intimacy. I have been assisting with their retreats during 2019 and hope to continue in 2020 pending the pandemic restrictions.

In 2013-2015 I completed the Heart IQ Practitioner Training and the Heart IQ Love, Relationships and You Coach’s Training with Christian Pankhurst.

I studied a variety of energy and bodywork practices before settling with Craniosacral Therapy (CST). I have discovered that CST resonates best with who I am and how I love to share with people. The majority of my bodywork practice comes from this amazingly subtle and profound modality. I studied CST in Seattle with Beth Cachet and now have completed over 600 hours of training.

My initial interest in holistic and alternative healing was cultivated by Sid Tayal for whom I will always be grateful.

Upon completing high school I earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing from Idaho State University in Pocatello, Idaho in 1983.

During my exploration of alternative and holistic approaches to wellness, I also studied Shiatsu with Paul Pitchford at Heartwood in Northern California.

Fun Things about Me That Might Surprise You:

  • At the age of 14, I learned to drive a full grain truck into the elevators on hilly narrow gravel roads. Talk about learning to overcome your fears at an early age.
  • I lived on a 10 acre homestead in the West Kootenays of BC for 10 years. During one of those years I canned over 430 jars of food from the property and froze over 75 gallons of apple cider from trees on the property, all while raising 3 children.
  • I have been known to shake my bootie on a daily basis on my own or at Dance Temple in Victoria, which is one of my favorite ways to move and stay active and let go of stuff that I’m finished with.
  • I have a bit of a book addiction and I still love the real ones I can hold in my hands. I’m driven by intense curiosity about possibilities, and usually have a variety of books I’m reading at the same time depending on where my interest and focus is for the day or the week.
  • I wear a woman’s size 11 shoe.

and now……

I continue to transform my own paralyzing fears and pain into opportunities for growth.  I’ve moved forward and continue to move forward, past former limitations, and am creating my own amazingly evolving life of my dreams. I’ve built a practice that successfully helps and supports sensitive individuals so that they can find ease, calm, peace, internal strength and the power needed to step forward into their own fabulous lives, one step at a time.

Just imagine how YOUR life could change! Imagine what could be possible for you if you had the support you need.  I invite you to contact me so that we can talk about how I can provide the much-needed support you deserve so that you can create the life of your dreams – and start living it!
